Name Description
Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) NAVAIR’s mission is to provide full life-cycle support of naval aviation aircraft, weapons and systems operated by Sailors and Marines. This support includes research, design, development, and systems engineering; acquisition; test and evaluation; training facilities and equipment; repair and modification; and in-service engineering and logistics support.
Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) is the largest of the Navy’s five system commands. NAVSEA strives to be an efficient provider of defense resources for the nation, and it plays an important role in the Navy Enterprise. As a Provider Command, it has the responsibility of directing resource sponsors into the proper mix of manpower and resources to properly equip the fleet.
Space and Naval Warfare Command (SPAWAR) Deliver FORCEnet by inventing, acquiring, developing, delivering and supporting integrated and interoperable C4ISR, Business IT and Space Capabilities in the interest of national defense.
Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) NAVSUP’s mission is to provide Navy, Marine Corps, Joint and Allied Forces with products and services that deliver Combat Capability through Logistics. We manage supply chains that provide material for Navy aircraft, surface ships, submarines and their associated weapons systems. We provide centralized inventory management for Navy’s non-nuclear ordnance stockpile. We provide a wide range of base operating and waterfront logistics support services, coordinating material deliveries, contracting for supplies and services, and providing material management and warehousing services.
Naval Air Warfare Center – Training Systems Division (NAWTSD)  The Navy center for research, development, test and  evaluation, acquisition and product support of training systems, to  provide Interservice coordination and training systems support for the Army and Air Force, and to perform such other functions and tasks
as directed by higher authority.
Naval Air Warfare Center – Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) NAWCAD is located at Patuxent River, Maryland; Lakehurst, New Jersey; and Orlando, Florida; these facilities support research, development, test, evaluation, engineering and fleet support of Navy and Marine Corps air vehicle systems and trainers. The NAWCAD is the steward of the ranges, test facilities, laboratories, and aircraft necessary to support the Fleet’s acquisition requirements.
Naval Air Warfare Center – Weapons Division (NAWCWD) The Naval Air Warfare Center, Weapons Division (NAWCWD) is an organization within the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), dedicated to maintaining a center of excellence in weapons development for the Department of the Navy (DoN). NAWCWD has two locations in sunny Southern California; China Lake hosting the land test range and Point Mugu hosting the sea test range.
