Defense Acquisition Portal |
The Defense Acquisition Portal (DAP) serves as the central point of access for all Acquisition, Technology & Logistics (AT&L) resources and information, and also serves to communicate acquisition policy and best practices and provides a link to education and training resources. As the primary reference tool for the Defense Acquisition Workforce, it provides a means to link together information and reference assets from various disciplines into an integrated, but decentralized information source. The DAP houses the Acquisition Community Connection (ACC), ACQuipedia, Program Manager’s Toolkit, Defense Acquisition Guide… |
Acquisition Community Connection |
The Acquisition Community Connection (ACC) supports the Defense Acquisition Workforce by providing a collection of publicly accessible collaborative knowledge spaces, including Communities of Practice (CoPs), Special Interest Areas (SIAs) and workspaces. Each of the many CoPs, SIAs and workspaces is dedicated to a specific DoD acquisition topic, such as contracting, program management, risk management, space acquisition, etc. The ACC also houses the Acquisition Encyclopedia and other major tools such as the Defense Acquisition Guidebook, the Acquisition Technology & Logistics (AT&L) Integrated Lifecycle Chart, and the Program Managers e-Toolkit. |
ACQuipedia |
ACQuipedia is simular to AcqNotes as it serves as an online encyclopedia of common defense acquisition topics. Each topic is identified as an article; each article contains a definition, a brief narrative that provides context, and includes links to the most pertinent policy, guidance, tools, practices, and training, that further augment understanding and expand depth. At its essence ACQuipedia provides the acquisition workforce with quick access to information in a succinct and digestible format. Article content aggregates the most relevant references and learning assets to narrowly focus users and quickly provide high value content. |
Program Manager’s e-Toolkit |
The Program Manager’s Toolkit is a collection of helpful DoD program management information, including graphical summaries of acquisition policies and managerial skills. It evolved from a collection of class handouts developed by DAU in their Program Management Course. It links to related DAU resources and includes Performance Learning Tools (PLTs) to help program managers do their jobs. |
Defense Acquisition Guidebook |
The Defense Acquisition Guidebook (DAG) is the main guide that details the overall DoD acquisition process. The DAU online guide is designed to complement the main DoD Direction and Instruction documents by providing the acquisition workforce with discretionary best practice that should be tailored to the needs of each program. Acquisition professionals should use the Guidebook as a reference source supporting their management responsibilities. As an “on-line” resource, the information is limited only by the user’s interest or need. |
Integrated Life-Cycle Chart |
The Integrated Life-Cycle Chart (ILC) is pictorial of the entire acquisition lifecycle and all its main components and milestones. The interactive chart gives its users specific information about events that take place during the acquisition process. |
Glossary |
The DAU Glossary: Defense Acquisition Acronyms and Terms, contains most acronyms, abbreviations, and terms commonly used in the systems acquisition process within the Department of Defense (DoD) and defense industries. It focuses on terms with generic DoD application but also includes some Service-unique terms. It has been revised to reflect current acquisition initiatives and policy, and changes in the Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution (PPBE) process and the Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS). |
