Name Description
Army Combined Arms Command The US Army’s Combined Arms Center (CAC) is as a major subordinate headquarters of the US Army Training and Doctrine Command, has often been referred to as the “ Intellectual Center of the Army”. CAC provides Army-wide leadership and supervision for leader development and professional military and civilian education; institutional and collective training; functional training; training support; battle command; doctrine; lessons learned; and other specified areas that the TRADOC Commander designates. Army Contracting Command Provide global contracting support to warfighters through the full spectrum of military operations.
Army Materiel Command The U.S. Army Materiel Command is the Army’s premier provider of materiel readiness – technology, acquisition support, materiel development, logistics power projection, and sustainment – to the total force, across the spectrum of joint military operations. AMC is headquartered at Redstone Arsenal, AL., and impacts or has a presence in all 50 states and 155 countries. Manning these organizations is a work force of more than 70,000 dedicated military and civilian employees, many with highly developed specialties in weapons development, manufacturing and logistics.
Army Space and Missile Defense Command USASMDC/ARSTRAT conducts space and missile defense operations and provides planning, integration, control and coordination of Army forces and capabilities in support of U.S. Strategic Command missions (strategic deterrence, integrated missile defense, and space operations); serves as the Army force modernization proponent for space, high altitude and global missile defense; serves as the Army operational integrator for global missile defense; and conducts mission-related research and development.
Army Special Operations Command The U.S. Army Special Operations Command is the largest of the service components that make up U.S. Special Operations Command and provides about 70 percent of the special operations personnel in Central Command’s theatre. On any given day, dozens of USASOC elements are deployed around the world.
Army Intelligence and Security Command The U.S. Army INSCOM conducts intelligence, security and information operations for military commanders and national decision makers.
US Army Corps of Engineers The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has approximately 37,000 dedicated Civilians and Soldiers delivering engineering services to customers in more than 90 countries worldwide.
Military Surface Deployment and Distribution Command To improve the global deployability and sustainment of U.S. Armed Forces by providing the Department of Defense (DoD) with transportation engineering, policy guidance, research, and analytical expertise to support the National Military Strategy.
