Data Accession List (DAL)

The purpose of the Data Accession List (DAL) is to provide a medium for identifying contractor internal data that has been generated by the contractor in compliance with the work effort described in the Statement of Work (SOW). The DAL is an index of the generated data that is made available on request.

  • This data item is not a substitute for standard data requirements that are contractually applied.

What’s the difference between a Data Accession List and a CDRL? [1]

A Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) is a list of data requirements which the contractor is REQUIRED to submit to the government.  The DAL is a list of contractor internal data generated by the contractor which the government MAY request (available upon request) if the need arises.  The DAL is not the report, but a list of their internal data pertaining to this contract which is available upon request.
