Production Acceptance T&E

Production Acceptance Test & Evaluation (PAT&E) is a Developmental Test & Evaluation (DT&E) activity. It ensures that production items demonstrate the fulfillment of the requirements and specifications of the procuring contract or agreements. The testing also ensures the system being produced demonstrates the same performance as the pre-Full Rate Production models. The procured items or system must operate in accordance with system and item specifications. The PAT&E is usually conducted by the program office Quality Assurance section at the contractor’s plant and may involve operational users. The Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) may provide oversight. [1]

There are thee (3) specific types of DT&E are:

  1. Production Acceptance Test & Evaluation (PAT&E)
  2. Live-Fire Test & Evaluation (LFT&E)
  3. Product Qualification Testing (PGT)
